こちらの振袖の柄にある貝箱とは、「貝合せ」の貝を入れる六角形または八角形の器のこと。
では「貝合せ」とは？
実は、平安末期から始まった貴族の遊びで、
貝の内側に描かれた絵をトランプの神経衰弱の様に当てるゲームなんですって❣
二個一対の貝の形から夫婦和合の意味を持ち、夫婦円満の象徴なんです。
お振袖の柄から昔の貴族の遊びを垣間見るなんて面白いですね?
